Lisa Law was at ground zero for most of the tie-dyed events of the '60s. As a member of the Hog Farm, she helped run the free-kitchen at the Woodstock Festival, witnessed the Hog Rodeo and Great Bus Race, was hostess to Bob Dylan at the castle and cooked for him as he wrote songs in his private room
upstairs, and lived in communes from California to New Mexico. Her friends read like a "Who's Who" of the '60s...Peter Fonda & Dennis Hopper (Easy Rider), Allen Ginsberg, Paul Krassner, Andy Warhol, Bob Dylan, Peter Coyote, Graham Nash (Crosby, Stills & Nash), Michelle Phillips (Mammas & Pappas), Ram Dass, Wavy Gravy, Carolyn Garcia (Prankster and Jerry's wife) & Timothy Leary (the father of LSD).
Her video, Flashing on the Sixties and the companion book of the same name have been hailed as one of the best documentaries of the '60s from behind the scenes. Featured below is just a sampling of some of her Woodstock photos.
In addition, for a limited time a select collection of Sixties photographs from A Visual Journey: Photographs by Lisa Law 1965-1971 can be seen through the Smithsonian Institute Online.
