Through the use of archival footage, recently shot interviews, home movies and still photography... this video captures the mood of the turbulent and emotional '60's. This is one for the time capsule!!
Based upon Lisa Law's photographic chronicle of the same name, Flashing On The Sixties, is an excellent, insightful look at the decade of love, peace, and social change. It features Hog Farmers, actors, singers, musicians, philosophers, "Diggers", spiritual leaders, political activists, and prominent artists. It also includes children born in those years and now entering adulthood, who are perpetuating the values and continuing the traditions.
Flashing On The Sixties reflects the innocence and discovery that were characteristic of the decade and paints an American protrait of the country in transition. The footage from The Hog Farm Commune, Haight-Ashbury, and Woodstock, plus commentary from a variety of '60s icons such as Wavy Gravy, Graham Nash, Ram Dass, David Crosby, Dennis Hopper, Peter Fonda, and Timothy Leary gives a rush of nostalgia for those who lived through it and supplies a visual history lesson to the youth of today.
