Newspaper Ad
It is from a newspaper, but I have no idea which one. It is interesting to see this because it is the
same general format as the final poster (dove and guitar), but it refers to Walkill, not White Lake. I find that interesting, because I had originally
thought the Arnold Skolnick poster was conceived because the site had been changed and the David Byrd poster could not be used. In fact, I think the
promoters simply did not like Byrd's rendition and commissioned Skolnick to do a new one, before the site changed. I don't know if you can actually see
the names of the proposed bands, but Sly is missing and Sunday night includes The Moody Blues. So, this must be a fairly early ad.
I have another ad (photocopy only) from the New York Times, dated August 3. This one is in the same format, but Walkill has been replaced with
White Lake and Sly has shown up on Friday night and the Moody Blues are gone.
