Memorabilia
April 2004 - Woodstock Relived

A teacher in Massachusetts wrote to us saying that she wanted to treat 5 very special guys to a trip to Woodstock. These young men were her students in a Special Education class. Since a real trip would have been difficult (and entailed the use of a time machine), she decided to re-create the Woodstock of 1969. So with the help of parents, teachers, other students and the local police, she went about giving these guys the experience of a lifetime. They set up tents, had entertainment, dressed for the parts, and sang the songs of the day. It sure looks like they had fun. We salute Kay, her assistants and students for showing us, in yet another way, that the Woodstock Spirit is alive and well. We hope the pictures of this celebration and joy that is so apparent on the faces of the participants will bring as warm a feeling to your heart as it did ours.

High school friends helped set the mood

The "Gang" prepares
for their trip to Woodstock

And it's all aboard
the Peace Bus

Now they're REALLY
ready... Check out
those GROOVY threads!

Tents are pitched

And tested!
"Yep...This will do!"

Stage announcements are made:
"You can drink the red Kool-aid."

And the entertainment begins

There's lots of singing

Everybody gets in the act
"Well I'm going down to Yasgur's farm.
Gonna join in a rock'n roll band."

There's munchies!

And time to just groove...

Officer Friendly helps out

"Yea...Rock On!!!"

Everybody is helping out

But alas, Jimi is singing
And it's time to go home

And a special thanks goes out to teacher, Kay Toma, and all who helped her show these kids the real Woodstock Spirit!
