Bill Berko ( billyb@lvcm.com ) recently sent us some photos that he took at the original event. He writes that at one time, he had over 150 photos, many of the stage area, but that they were lost when moving. BUMMER!!! Anyway, we appreciate him allowing us to show those that he found.

Tents start arriving.

Deluxe accommodations for one
...two if you get real cozy!

Writing the next big hit.

Fixing lunch

Nice Beads

Man, we should have picked
a spot in front of this highway!

Now here's the deal, man!

Looking at the world
through rose-colored glasses.

Where's the stage???

Let the bathing begin

Oh, Oh...more people found our
secret spot!

One of the many helicopters
that helped during the festival.

Unfortunately, this one took a
fatality out. The young man,
wrapped in the cloth, fell
asleep under a tractor tire
and was run over
...no one saw him there.

Harriette ( hjsofnyc@sbcglobal.com ) sent some of her photos from the original Woodstock and the 'Day In The Garden' concert held at the site in 1998. Her reunion photos can be found in the Deju Vu wing

Lawrence Pear (LPear82720@cs.com) writes 'I just was given this picture of me (on the right) and someone else helping some girl who was hurt on the site. Evidently it was in the N.Y.Times that weekend. I had heard about it and vaguely remember the picture being taken, but never had the opportunity to view it. A friend I hadn't seen in 35 years gave it to me a few months ago, to see if it was really me. She had seen it in the paper and thought she recognized me. She saved it for 33 years to finally ask me.

It would be really awesome if either the other guy or the girl view the picture on your site and remember it as well. We didn't know each other. It was just one of those random acts of kindness that were so prevalent during that time period, and especially during those "Three Days Of Peace And Music." An earthshaking event and three days that changed at least a half million lives if not the world as we knew it back then.'

Lending a helping hand
